Start strength training for runners with Workout A and Workout B at two sets per exercise. Keep three repetitions in reserve for the first two weeks. When soreness is low and key runs remain normal, progress toward three sets and heavier five-to-eight-repetition work. Add jumps only after strength and landing skill are established.

The plan succeeds when you lift more capably, run normally, and recover predictably. If your gym numbers rise while your running week breaks down, the program is not runner-specific yet—reduce its cost and keep its purpose.
